Soft Weapon

Description
Soft Weapon

Special exhibition for The National Museum of Lithuania

Soft but dangerous. This installation is another reminder that women who fought for the country’s freedom in the past are significant. However, women fought differently than men because women rarely had a weapon. Referring to this difference, the artist searched for symbols and materials to describe this gentle brawl.

The hair left a mark in historical contexts in some ways. Partisan liaison officers carried messages in the braided hair, which was a successful way for safe transfer. Braid, as a gentleness attribute, becomes a bravery and determination symbol. The installation Soft Weapon combines gentleness and a cold iron gun into one body.
